Old Versions
Older versions of messenger sometimes work better than the new versions and some just like the way the old version works so here a list of the Older Versions of Messenger that work.

Uninstall Current Version

  • Windows 7/Vista
  • Windows XP
  • Close Yahoo! Messenger down.
  • Click on the Windows Start button start button and select Control Panel.
  • Click on uninstall a program.
  • Find Yahoo Messenger and Click on it.
  • Click Uninstall/change.
  • Click Finish

  • Close Yahoo! Messenger down.
  • Click on the Windows Start button start and select Control Panel.
  • Click on Add or Remove Program..
  • Find Yahoo Messenger and Click on it.
  • Click Change/Remove.
  • Click Finish.

Download Old Version

Messenger 11.0 Builds: 11.0.0.2014 - 11.0.0.2009

Messenger 10 Builds: 10.0.0.1267 - 10.0.0.1264 - 10.0.1258

Messenger 9 Builds: 9.0.0.2162

Stop Yahoo! from auto updating

  • Click the Windows Start button and type in run (or select run if using win XP).
  • Type in C:\Program Files\Yahoo!\Messenger and press OK (if your running 64bit windows type in C:\Program Files (x86)\Yahoo!\Messenger).
  • Find the file yupdater and rename it to yupd.
